Area
Despite its approach over the rather ugly Hermann-Debroux viaduct, Auderghem is a very pleasant commune, split between the more densely populated areas and wooded, residential neighbourhoods, alongside the Foret de Soignes, Woluwe Park and The Rouge-Cloitre. It is very popular with business executives and officials of the European Institutions
Well served by the Metro and bus network, it has its own good quality shopping malls and facilities.
Once the home to a number of industries, today, it accomodates a broad diversity of trade, offices of the multinationals and the European institutions (in the Beaulieu district). But the remnants of the past remain: l'Abbaye de Rouge- Cloitre, Le Chateau de Solitude, Le Chateau de Trois Fontaines and also Le Centre scolaire du Souverain.
