The Area
A very attractive location around the Avenue Louise which links the City to the beautiful Bois de la Cambre. A bi-lingual commune, which is quite densely populated and a popular area for expats to find accommodation. The shopping areas off Avenue Louise and Porte de Namur are close by with numerous bars, restaurants and after work attractions. The area has many parks, lakes and woodlands alongside the convenience of living close to the City, the business sectors and schools. Parking can be a problem.
The Chatelaine area is especially popular with younger couples or singles as it offers a very lively lifestyle and warm ambiance, typified by the weekly Cheese Market on a Wednesday afternoon offering a perfect opportunity for people watching.
Accommodation
Many of the quality spacious townhouses have been converted both into offices and attractive apartments with modern plumbing and heating, gardens and relatively little noise. The popularity and prestige of this area keeps rental prices at a generally high level.
However there is a wide choice with rentals as diverse as €500 - €10,000 per month.
