“The Hot Blooded City”, Liege or Luik, dependant upon your language, has much to offer despite being at the heart of the recently economic depressed industrial region of Belgium’s South. Due to the industrial decline, the area has suffered from some social problems but nonetheless has a very pleasant central area offering excellent shopping and cultural entertainments. However, it is still now the third largest city in Belgium (400.000 inhabitants).
The City provides a good stock of apartments and expats tend to settle in the areas bound by the central boulevards. There is much reduced choice for rental property compared to the Brussels region but suitable good quality property is available.
