The Area
The commune has over 100,000 inhabitants but an initial word of warning to those moving into the area. All newcomers are required by law to register at the local Commune and regrettably the Commune in Schaerbeek can be somewhat difficult to deal with. Registration can often involve several visits and be very time consuming.
Nonetheless, the locality has many interesting features, not least of all the Parc Josaphat with its open air sculptures. Attractive tree lined avenues and good local facilities including a swimming pool and a number of local theatres.
Accommodation
A wide range as the locality is currently undergoing a lot of redevelopment.
