Strip tease?

Comic strips are part of Belgian heritage and culture. “Hergé’s Adventures Of Tin Tin” are probably the best known but with others such as Lucky Luke, Spirou and The Smurfs all laying claim to fame from the same country, it can also be a serious business.

The “Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinee” is not especially aimed at children and younger ones may find it lacks appeal, however it is nonetheless well worth a visit. The museum is situated in the beautiful Art Nouveau setting of the Waucquez Warehouses, considered to be one of the masterpieces of the most famous Belgian Art Nouveau architect, Victor Horta.

Over three floors, you can learn everything about the birth and the development of a comic strip album, see original drawings and pages of artwork and many of the familiar characters who have become well known throughout the world. The museum also has a shop with albums and gadgets of the different Belgian comic strip heroes.
